Averie is 1!!

Little Miss Sunshine,
Where did the time go??? It seems like a couple weeks ago we were bringing you home on that warm Saturday morning. This past year has been the best year of my life. You make everything so exciting and new again and I love seeing the world through your eyes. You are the best gift that your daddy and I have ever been given and we are so proud to be your parents!
What are you up to these days??
- Crawling and pulling up but not walking yet (which is okay with me!). You cruise around on the furniture and will stand by yourself for a long time on the couch.
- You are down to your morning and lunch bottle and eating real food for dinner.
- You still sleep 12-13 hours straight at night. You usually take an hour nap in the morning and a longer nap in the afternoon. You are like your mama, you love sleep.
- You love attention. Anytime we are in public you talk to and smile at everyone.
- You can clap, wave, do the touchdown sign, tell us how old you are, and you know the signs for eat, more, dog, and duck.
- You give the best kisses! You come at us full speed with your mouth wide open and full of slober and lay it on us.
- You can say mama (just not when anyone asks you, you still shake your head no at that), dada, hello, and dog.
- You and Tucker are best friends. I think when you do start walking it will be because you are chasing him.
- You are still wearing 6 month onesies but you have your daddy's long legs and need 12-18 month pants and suspenders!
- You go to church every Sunday and get to stay in big church with us for the music but you don't like to sit still or be quiet when we pray or Paul is preaching. Daddy takes you to the nursery and when we go pick you up someone is ALWAYS holding you and won't give you back.
- You play good with other babies and are very gentle with baby Andrew who comes to play with you on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- You have traveled a lot your first year. You've been to Spartanburg, Clemson, Orlando, Greensboro, and Myrtle Beach. You love the beach and the water. You are like a little fish in the swimming pool and when we took you to the aquarium in Myrtle Beach you were fascinated by everything there.
- The only things you are scared of is the vacuum cleaner and foil. If I bring either one of these out and you hear it you will absolutely freak out. Otherwise, you are a little daredevil and love to be upside down or thrown up in the air or tickled and wrestled.
- You are such a good eater. You love yogurt, bread, cheese, avacado, and all your baby food, even vegetables. There is nothing that you won't eat.
- You aren't very good with your sippy cup yet and you STILL don't hold your bottle. I think that it's God's way of giving us cuddle time with you because you are not a cuddler and don't want to be held for a long time. You like to be on the go!
- You survived your first year without being sick despite a Whooping Cough and RSV scare.
- You have 2 teeth but it looks like you are getting about 10 more. You went to the dentist and the eye doctor this year.
Everyday with you is something new. You have the best personality and are so easy going. We can take you anywhere and do most anything with you and you just roll right along with us. I really don't remember what life was like without you and I can't imagine it being any different. I love you more than words can say and I can't wait to see what adventures we have in year 2!
Love you,
Mama
